WHAT DOES TASO DO FOR YOU?

 

Provides each member a rule book and case book annually for each sport, and mechanics manuals, and NFHS pre-season guides if applicable. Supplies a membership card each year to all members.

 

Conducts a series of regional workshops throughout the state designed to improve the officiating skills of the members who attend. Holds an annual business meeting open to all members.

 

Conducts an annual rules interpretation meeting, open to all members, in conjunction with the annual business meeting. Rules changes, points of emphasis, and interpretations are presented by qualified clinicians and guest speakers.

 

Distributes a written examination to be administered to all officials each year.  TASO offers on-line testing through its state of the art web site. Provides qualified clinicians who are available for conducting clinics throughout the state.

 

Gives recognition to members for Distinguished Service, Honorary Life Membership, and Roll of Honor awards Provides for a systematic and orderly transfer policy for members moving from one chapter to another. Works with the University Interscholastic League, coaches associations, National Federation of High Schools, NCAA and local chapters throughout the state in the dissemination and distribution of rules, rules changes, and interpretations. Provides counsel and advice to local chapters on incorporation, insurance, liability issues, etc.

 

Requires that local chapters provide training programs for maintaining and improving officiating skills.

 

Provides uniform standards for officiating throughout the state.Provides resources to local chapters through qualified personnel to assist in various issues facing local chapters.

 

Provides liability insurance for its members.

 

Maintains archival storage of all member records

 

Makes available an on-line database with a members portal to disseminate information, update records, increase efficiency and improve communication.
