The Dump Train is a high--production aggregate delivery system based on simple and efficient technology. Permanently coupled with a slackless drawbar system, it is a series of specially designed hopper cars with a single belt conveyor running underneath the entire length of the train. The material is discharged at the rear of the train by a transfer conveyor car. A unique vehicle that will attract attention to your railroad, the Dump Train operates as a unit-train-consist and is designed to unload material up to 4 inches in diameter completely at 1000 tons per hour. The whole system may be operated by a single man. The Dump Train is the most efficient high-speed aggregate delivery system available.

Each Dump Train is designed to deliver up to 1,500 tons of material per trip. It has an unloading speed of 1000 tons per hour for graded material, and 900 tons per hour for base material. It operates with a one-man crew. The transfer conveyor pivots 210 degrees horizontally and 30 degrees vertically. The Dump Train will deliver material 52 feet from the center line of the track.
Each car empties onto the full length conveyor. At the end of the train, material is lifted to the transfer conveyor where it is unloaded to either side of the train. The material is then windrowed parallel to any straight section of track.
The transfer car houses the transfer conveyor unit and the diesel engine that provides power.
The Dump Train multi-hopper cars are designed to deliver approximately 95 tons each. The hopper gates open parallel to the conveyor belt and are hydraulically operated. There is a 10 and 15 car unit available that can run separately or they can be put together for larger jobs.
The Dump Train is perfect for bridge fills, shoulder work, sub-ballast delivery, surface ballasting, and precise stockpiling of construction aggregates. If you have a customer that needs to move coal or aggregate, contact Georgetown Railroad to learn more about the Dump Train.
